There was a study done a few years ago when professionals asked children ages 4 – 8 years old , “What is love”? The answers given from the “mouths of babes” were insightful and inspirational. One of my favorites…

“When someone loves you the way they say your name is different. You just know your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy age 4
Scripture tells us that there is power in the name of Jesus…”that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Phil 2:10-11
Names are important. Your name is important as well.
Have you heard the Lord speak YOUR name in the depths of your heart?
For our heart has ears to hear the Lord call our name.

And there is peace, and love and affirmation when the Lord calls us by name.
In the chaos of your day….in the busy-ness of life…in the din of the everyday…
Make time to sit still and listen and with the ears of your heart hear the Lord speak YOUR name. And rest in the wisdom that “YOUR name is safe in His mouth”.
“The gatekeeper opens it (the gate) for him (the shepherd), and the sheep hear his voice, as he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has driven out all his own, he walks ahead of them, and the sheep follow him, because they recognize his voice. But they will not follow a stranger, they will run away from him, because they do not recognize the voice of strangers.” John 10:3-5
Oh I LOVE this one SO Much!!! Weepy-eyed at “Billy’s” sweetest words–he knows!!!! Much love to you today, and always. God’s blessings too!
Yes little Billy “knows” doesn’t he? No wonder Jesus says we must become like little children! Joyful blessings sent your way!
Great post. It reminds me that often when reading the Psalms I like replacing the personal pronoun with my own name. God is speaking to ME!
I really like that idea…thanks so much for sharing. I will try the same. Blessings to you and yours!
Once when I was asking for forgiveness for everything possible, I heard Him say my name . . .and then “I love you.” 🙂 God bless you and your beautiful safe inspiring posts!
That’s beautiful Debbie..so you know what I mean and I bet you will never forget it! Blessings.
Guess what — I’ve never thought about the Lord calling me by my name. I wonder if He’ll call me Lady! 🙂 Enjoyed the Post!

Thankyou for taking the time to stop by earlier … and tgis blog is thought provoking … our name is safe in His mouth … but is His name safe is ours? Do we use His name … even our words with care? How carefully do we hold the heart of the One that died for us all?
Yes excellent questions to ponder on God is Good! Blessings.
I love Billy’s answer…. brilliant! 🙂
Yes…the wisdom of our wee ones, right? Blessings!
OK, i’m sobbing a little. I see mum with God and sheep. Safe and all-knowing. She has talked to God for a long time. I hope her wishes have come true. I hope I take in some goodness from God some day. I know he will take care of Mom. xo mel
It’s a beautiful thought to rest in that comfort that your mommy had a relationship with god. Of course you will take in some goodness from God, Mel, you are being a light for him right now in your life. blessings!

All through this post, I kept hearing the words of that popular song, “Say my name, say my name.” and remembering the verse that teaches us that “He called you by your name.” Rocks my world and lifts me right up to Him today! Bless you!
o amen on this just amazing
thanks Jesusmyjoy…and blessings on you and yours!
Amen! I had a conversation with someone yesterday about how we should call on His name. We need to yell the name of Jesus with power, with authority. However, I didn’t think about how He calls our name. His has the ability to call us in such a gentle yet powerful way. His being gentle gives us comfort and His power gives us safety! We ought to call on Him the way He calls us! Food for thought.
I think sometimes we need to shout HIs name with power and then sometimes gently in the quiet of our hearts. Either way we are reassured He always hears us! Blessings.
