Wrestling…

Have you ever noticed the greatest blessings come after the darkness of faith?…

The darkness of a night wrestling with God?

Prideful, false self grapples with God…

as He forms us into our real identity…

Rescuing and reclaiming us as His child.

The night…the wrestling…and with the new dawn of light…

The Blessing.

In the wrestling…is the Becoming.

In the becoming…is the blessing.

Blessing given to then go forth and bless.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is the Lord.” Jer 17:7

  1. So profound. Thank you for this post. What a boost. By the way—do you know where the woman at the well has gone? I keep trying to use the link to get there. Let me know if you could, ok?

  2. Oh sister! This is so so so wonderful! I love the “rescuing, reclaiming us as His Child” part–and I’ve gotten so I don’t mind the wrestling part so much anymore, because the results are usually spectacular! (or BIG) Thank you for this great word and reminder. God bless you abundantly!

  3. Hi J and so True untill we come to heart repentance we do indeed wresle with God, sin has it’s power over us but as Jesus tells us ( see below ) in Him we are no longer in slavery to sin, He has set us free and as you said God is conforming us into Christ’s image and purifing us from all unrighteousness as we choose to walk in the Fruit of the Spirit by His empowering, which means we are putting our evil flesh nature to death, we are then free from it’s power and control 1 John 3:1-11(9)

John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

How good J that we no longer need to fear as God tells us in ….

1 John 4:17-19 Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.

    Christian Love Anne.

  4. Yes, the blessing after the wrestling has always been one of my favorite Old Testament stories. It seems as though when we throw ourselves whole heartedly into the fray, so to speak, that we become partners with HIM in the receipt of blessings afterwards. Indeed, He does prepare a royal banquet for us, His Children. Hallelujah!
