A New Year’s Prayer
May God make your year a happy one! Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain, But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes; Not by making your path easy, But by making you sturdy to travel any path; Not by taking hardships from you, But by taking fear from your heart; Not by granting you unbroken sunshine, But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows; Not by making your life always pleasant, But by showing you when people and their causes need you most, and by making you anxious to be there to help. God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.

  1. This is an absolutely wonderful, wonderful prayer! I think I’d like to put it up where I can see it daily, and share it with others–it so speaks to my spirit and heart. Thank you so very much for sharing this!! Happy New Year in Him!

  2. Dear fromtheheartofj thank you for your beautiful prayer and it has much Truth, God does not cause us to suffer or even willingly allows it, the same with those we Love, it would never be our intention to see them hurt or abused but as you prayed God knows we will have trials and hardship and so prepares us for them and strengthens us through them and wonderfully works them all for good.

Thank you my dear Sister in The Lord, you are indeed a blessing to me and many others and if I said that 100+ times it would not be enough.

    Christian Love Anne.

    • But suffering becomes a prayer and stretches us doesn’t it Anne? Stretches us to reach out our hands and cling more tightly to Him. Thank you for your kind words. You Anne bless me and bless many. Joy to you this day!

      • Yes you are right fromtheheartofj God can use anything for good but not evil although He does make good come from evil but does not willingly allow it or cause it to happen. He tells us in Scripture as you can see below that suffering is not in His plans for us even though He knows we will suffer, sadly some people don’t turn to God but away because of suffering and this is not God’s will but Satans . To say God does evil to bring good out of it the Scriptuers tell us is slander. God is Love and Love does not do evil or harm others or keep a record of wrongs . God’s Disapline and correction is also very missunderstood. There will be judgment for those who reject the free gift of Salvation in Jesus but Christians who are Born again are not under judgment, they have been set free. If we do evil we cause our own suffering, but Satan can too using others, this is how we were created, yes in one way it is caused by God He created us like this but we suffer spiritually only if we don’t choose His guidlines which He empowers us to obey.

You are also someone J that I would have no hesintation in seeking support from, I have been greatly blessed to have met you Blogging,

Jeremiah 29… is for all God’s Children for all of earthly time, without Him we are all in captivity and He is unchanging, we are the New Spiritual Jerusalem the promised see of Abraham, God doesn’t plan evil for us He never did ….

Jeremiah 29 :11-13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

        Christian Love Anne

    • Yes Anne you are right God is Love and he does not creat evil…He couldn’t. Unfortunately we are to blame with our sinful choices and free wills gone astray. ANd now there is a domino effect of evil and suffering in our world of epic proportions. But we know the end of the story…God is victorious…and for now we live out this battle plan knowing in hope that God can pull good out of evil. Every soul is precious to Him and He is constantly calling us back to Him. Have a blessed day.

  3. Keeping our face bright in the shadows is what our Good Shepherd does as He leads us into the paths of 2012. Bless you and keep you; may you always remember to look at His face shining upon yours!
